Our Story

¡Sí se puede!

Cafe Ava was established in November of 2022 by a young professional couple, Andrea and Derek Cabrera, driven by a dream to elegantly showcase their Latin culture. Recognizing a need for greater Latino representation in Rhode Island, particularly in Cranston, they set out to break barriers and create a welcoming space for all.

At Cafe Ava, diversity is celebrated through a variety of Latin cultures, ensuring a warm embrace for every guest. Beyond offering delicious cuisine, the café serves as a platform for cultural education and appreciation.

Named after Andrea and Derek's daughter, Ava Cabrera, Cafe Ava symbolizes the limitless possibilities that arise from hard work, perseverance, and a strong connection to one's cultural roots. Ava's story embodies the mantra "¡Que sí se puede!" - "It is possible!" - inspiring all to believe that success knows no bounds.
